NBA Playoffs: The Miami Heat, an American professional basketball team based in Miami, defeat Denver Nuggets for the first time in the home play-offs to level the series.

The Heat play in the Eastern Conference Southeast Division of the National Basketball Association. The team has won three NBA championships and plays its home games at Kaseya Center. The Miami Heat defeated the Denver Nuggets for the first time at home in the play-off series to tie the NBA Finals at 1-1.

With 48.3 seconds remaining, Bam Adebayo made two free throws to win the game 111-108.

After trailing by 15 points in the first half, the Heat outscored their opponents 36-25 in the second half.

Game three of the best-of-seven series will be played on Wednesday at Miami (at 01:30 BST).

The Nuggets lost, their first at home since March 30. Nikola Jokic scored the most points with 41, but coach Michael Malone was disappointed.

"We should discuss exertion," said Malone. " I mean, we're talking about effort because it's the NBA Finals. I'm very concerned about that.

"We had guys out there who were just thinking they could just turn it on or off or feeling sorry for themselves for not making shots.

"This isn't the pre-season. It's not the regular season right now. This is the NBA Finals. That really, really baffles and disappoints me."

The Nuggets, with their bench players at the forefront, battled back to take a 57-51 lead at the half after the Heat, who had lost the series opener 104-93, started game two strongly and led by 11 with less than five minutes left in the first quarter.

Midway through the third quarter, the Heat tied the game at 66-66, but went into the final period down 83-75.

In any case, the guests went on a 15-2 scoring run, starting to lead the pack interestingly starting from the main quarter thanks to a Vincent three-pointer with 10:10 to play and at no point ever followed in the future.

"During the final quarter, our folks love to contend," Intensity mentor Erik Spoelstra said. " They love to place themselves out there in those decision times.

"We were fortunate to be able to make a lot of big defensive plays down the stretch, and then we got a lot of contributions, which you're going to need against a team like this," said the team.
